# Supporters: Bring your people with you

> Invite the family, friends and coaches who help you reach your goals. Share goals, actions and budget categories one by one, and choose who does what.

## At a glance

- Invite by email, or find people by name or username
- Share item by item, and nothing is shared by default

## Nobody gets there alone

Supporters are the people who'll encourage you, give you a push, or check your work. In the app you'll find them under **Supporters**, and the screen itself is called *Connections*. A connection goes both ways: once someone accepts, you can each share with the other.

## Invite your people

- **By email**, straight from a goal, action or budget form. If they don't use B3 yet, they get an invitation to join, and it's waiting for them when they sign up.
- **By name or username.** Search for people already on B3 and send a request.

They can accept or decline, even straight from the notification. You can withdraw an invitation, and send a new one if it was declined.

## Share on purpose

Nothing is shared by default. You choose, one item at a time, who can see:

- [goals](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/goals/), with their progress
- [actions](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/actions/) and [recurring actions](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/recurring-actions/), including every action a routine creates
- [budget](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/budget/) categories, with your transactions in them, and repeating transactions

## Two ways to take part

- **With a role.** An *assignee* can move an item along and log progress. An *approver* signs it off ([approvals](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/approvals/)).
- **As a viewer.** People on an item's *Share With* list can read it. On goals they can also like and comment.

Only you can edit what you own. If someone isn't on an item, as far as they can tell it doesn't exist.

## Privacy stays yours

Other B3 users only ever see your **name, photo, job title and username**. Your email, phone number, time zone and settings never cross to anyone else. More on [privacy and security](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/privacy/).

## Questions

### What can my supporters see?

Only the items you share with them, one by one, and your public profile (name, photo, job title and username). Your email, phone number, time zone and settings are never shown to other users. Items that aren't shared with someone are invisible to them.

### Can a supporter change my goals?

No. People you share with can only view (and, on goals, like and comment). An assignee can update status and log progress, and an approver can approve or reject. Only you can edit.
