# Approvals: Done means someone agrees

## Accountability, built in

Most goals slip because nobody notices. With B3, anyone you trust can be the one who says "yes, that's done". Set an **Approved By** person on any [goal](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/goals/) or [action](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/actions/). It can be you, a coach, a partner, a parent or a colleague.

## How it flows

1. When the work is done, the owner or the assignee taps **Send for approval**. The item becomes **Pending** and the approver gets a notification.
2. The approver reviews it in their **Approvals** queue.
3. **Approve**, and the item is marked complete.
4. **Reject**, with a note, and the item goes back to *In Progress* (an action) or *Active* (a goal), with the note on it.
5. Fix it and send it again. A rejection is never final.

While an item is pending it's locked: its status, assignee and approver can't change, and it can't be archived or deleted.

## One queue for your signature

Everything waiting on you, goals and actions, sits on one **Approvals** screen. Swipe one way to approve and the other to reject. Filter by title, assignee or what it's related to. The [dashboard](https://believebehavebecome.io/features/dashboard/) shows how many are waiting under *Requires your signature*.

## Questions

### Who can approve my goals and actions?

You, by default, in which case "Mark Complete" is a single tap. You can also pick any of your supporters as the approver. With a different approver, only their approval completes the item.

### What happens when an approval is rejected?

The action goes back to In Progress, or the goal back to Active. The approver's note shows on it, so you can fix what's missing and send it for approval again.
